From Reigate With Love

Our story began with a nervous first date in Reigate - a place that would later become the home we still cherish today. What started with shy smiles and tentative conversation soon unfolded into something much deeper, as we discovered a shared love for adventure, travel, great food, and all the little joys in between.

Over time, we grew into the very best of friends. We supported each other through life’s more difficult moments and celebrated the happiest ones side by side. Together, we created memories that we will carry with us forever, each one a reminder of how it all began and how far we have come.

Belgian Beer & Chocolate

Less than a year into our relationship, Stephen was offered a rare opportunity to move abroad to Brussels, Belgium. What should have been a simple next step suddenly turned into the beginning of an unexpected long-distance relationship. Our days became filled with video calls, carefully planned visits, and bittersweet goodbyes at train stations and airport gates, each farewell a little harder than the last.

Yet distance also gave us something special. It led us to new cities and shared adventures, wandering unfamiliar streets hand in hand whenever we could. We discovered incredible food, unforgettable beers, and more chocolate than we care to admit. What began as a challenge became a chapter that strengthened us - proving that even miles apart, we were always moving forward together.

The Proposal

The wedding proposal almost began with disaster at Gatwick Airport. As Stephen waited in line, heart already racing with excitement, his travel bag was suddenly flagged for additional screening. Inside it - unknowingly inches from discovery was the engagement ring. Time seemed to slow as the bag disappeared onto the inspection table, every possible outcome flashing through his mind.

After a tense few moments, the bag was cleared and returned without further questions. Relief washed over him as he walked away, proposal plans still safely intact. What could have been a very different beginning instead became the first dramatic chapter in a story that would soon lead to a joyful “yes.”

Under the warm skies of Thailand, a perfect plan was set in motion: a romantic sunset dinner on the beach, waves gently rolling in as the question would be asked. But nature had its own ideas. A tropical storm swept in, turning the golden shoreline into wind and rain, and Plan A quietly faded away.

Plan B, however, was something entirely unexpected. Inside a luxurious private villa, the evening transformed into something even more magical. A private chef prepared an exquisite dinner, the air filled with the aroma of beautiful food, soft music, and the glow of candlelight. Surrounded by stunning floral arrangements and the sound of rain outside, the proposal happened in an intimate, unforgettable setting - proving that even when plans change, the most meaningful moments find their way.

After twelve wonderful years together, filled with memories, challenges, and countless moments that shaped our journey, we are excited to take our next step forward - together. As we begin this new chapter as husband and wife, it means the world to us that you will be joining us as our guests on such a special day.
